\BOURNE VETERAN’S MEMORIAL COMMUNITY CENTER
GYMNASIUM AND BUILDING RULES

1. OPEN GYM IS FOR BOURNE RESIDENTS ONLY. OPEN GYM TIMES ARE FOR THAT AGE GROUP ONLY. PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT.

2. PLEASE SIGN THE GUEST BOOK LEDGABLY UPON ENTERING THE GYM. ID’S WILL BE RANDOMLY CHECKED.

3. GUNS, KNIVES OR ANY OBJECT USED AS A WEAPON ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED ON COMMUNITY CENTER/TOWN OF BOURNE PROPERTY. POLICE WILL BE NOTIFIED.

4. DO NOT USE THE THREE (3) EXTERIOR DOORS IN THE GYM. KEEP THEM CLOSED. DO NOT PROP THEM OPEN.

5. NO FOOD OR DRINKS IN THE GYM, EXCEPT WATER.
TOBACCO PRODUCTS, PRESCRIPTION AND/OR ILLEGAL DRUGS AND ALCOHOL ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED ON TOWN OF BOURNE PROPERTY.

6. CHILDREN 13 AND UNDER MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN WHILE INSIDE THE BUILDING. OPEN GYM IS NOT SUPERVISED BY BUILDING STAFF.

7. NO PRIVATE COACHING, ORGANIZED TEAM PRACTICES OR DRILLS ARE ALLOWED DURING OPEN GYM TIMES.

8. NO SKATEBOARDS, BIKES, OR ROLLER BLADES INSIDE THE BUILDING.

9. SHIRTS AND SHOES MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES WHILE INSIDE THE BUILDING (KARATE CLASS ON MATS ARE AN EXCEPTION).

10. NO CURSING OR LEWD BEHAVIOR. NO LOUD OR PROFANE MUSIC.

11. NO ANIMALS ARE ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING WITH THE EXCEPTION OF TRAINED AND LICENSED SERVICE ANIMALS.

12. KEEP CELL PHONE USAGE INSIDE THE BUILDING AT A MINIMUM AND AT A LOW VOLUME.


BE ADVISED: SECURITY CAMERAS ARE INSTALLED INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE BUILDING. THEY ARE ON A 24/7 RECORDING.
 
Community Center Building Usage Fees -
Meeting Rooms 

$35.00 a room, for each meeting with a maximum of 3 hours per day

Room 1 - Two sets of four, eight foot tables in a rectangle with 16 chairs at each set.  The room can be divided.  If no tables are needed, a maximum of 60 people can use the room or 30 for each side.

Room 2 - The board room has a maximum of 50 chairs set up auditorium style with a large desk in the front of the room that seats 10.  This room can also be divided.

Room 3 - The smallest of the rooms.  It has 18 chairs around six, six foot tables in a rectangle.

Kitchen/Cafeteria

Weeknight Use of Kitchen - $50.00 for a maximum of 4 hours per night.

Weeknight Use of Cafe - $35.00 for a maximum of 4 hours per day.  There are 8 round tables that seat 7 at each table.

Weeknight Use of Kitchen and cafe - $75.00 for a maximum of 4 hours per night.

Weekend Use of the Cafeteria - $125.00 for a maximum of 6 hours of usage per day.

Gymnasium

Weekday use of gym (Monday-Friday)

$40.00 per day with a maximum of 4 hours.

 

Weekend use of gym

$125.00 for 4 hours minimum usage per day.

$200.00 for a maximum of 8 hours usage per day.

All prices listed are for private parties and sport leagues, fundraising events, sport tournaments, for-profit functions and business/corporation meetings.

Space will be granted only if available.  Town of Bourne government operations and meetings, Town departmental programs and school sponsored functions will take priority.
All payments must be made out to the Town of Bourne.

Payments and applications must be submitted 10 business days prior to your scheduled event.

VETERAN'S AGENT -
The Veteran's Agent for Bourne residents is located at the Bourne Veteran's Memorial Community Center.

Office hours are Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM unless otherwise posted.

Buzzards Bay Recovery (anxiety, stress and depression) meets every Tuesday from 7:30 – 9:00 PM


Al Anon (substance abuse in the family) is held every Wednesday and Thursday from 5:00 - 6:00

Compassionate Friends (loss of a child) meets the 3d Wednesday of every month, starting at 6:30 PM.

THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEET AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER ON THE LAST TUESDAY OF THE MONTH. MEETINGS ARE POSTED AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. THE MEETINGS ARE TO DISCUSS COMMUNITY EVENTS, THE VETERAN'S MEMORIAL WALL LOCATED IN THE BUILDING AND REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE NEEDS ASSOCIATED WITH THE BUILDING.

COMMUNITY CENTER TRUSTEES ARE ELECTED BY BOURNE VOTERS. THERE ARE 3 MILITARY VETERAN SEATS AND 2 NON-MILITARY SEATS ON THE BOARD. THE CHARIMAN OF THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN ALSO SITS ON THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND IS INCLUDED IN ALL DISCUSSIONS AND VOTES ASSOCIATED WITH THE BUILDING.

THE COMMUNITY CENTER DIRECTOR REPORTS EACH MONTH TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEEES, HOWEVER, THE BUIDLING DIRECTOR IS APPOINTED AND SUPERVISED BY THE TOWN ADMINISTRATOR.
