Selectmen’s Meeting

Chairman Zuern called the meeting to order at 7:02 P.M. Present were Chairman Zuern, Mr. Mealy, Mrs. Conron, and Mr. Sloniecki.
Mr. Mealy gave a brief synopsis of a session between the Vice Chair of the School Committee, the Chair of the School Building Committee, the School Supt. Town Counsel, the Town Admin., and himself last Thursday evening to discuss strategies and protocols and possible timetables regarding the New elementary school funding issues.
Mrs. Zuern read a statement she planned to provide the town meeting this evening requesting that the meeting be recessed to provide fairness in the process to all competing sides of the school issue should the full Board concur.
Mrs. Conron made a motion to support the motion to recess the STM until November 1, 2006. Mr. Sloniecki seconded the motion and it was unanimously agreed to by the Board.
Mrs. Conron made a motion to recind the Board of Selectmen’s vote to hold a Special Town Meeting and Special election regarding the proposed New Elementary School and Early Childhood Center for November 13 and 15 respectively. Mr. Mealy seconded the motion and it was unanimously agreed to by the Board.
Mr. Sloniecki made a motion to recess the BOS meeting until the conclusion of the STM. The motion was seconded by Mr. Mealy and unanimously agreed to by the Board.
The meeting was recessed at 7:23 P.M.
At the conclusion of the STM. Mr. Mealy made a motion to adjourn the Selectmen’s meeting. Mr. Sloniecki seconded the motion and it was agreed to by the Board.
Meeting adjourned at 9:32 P.M.
