Selectman Ford MOVED and SECONDED by Selectman Conron to approve minutes of December 11, 2007 as amended. VOTE 4-0.
Announcements
Several announcements were made of upcoming events.
Public Comment – Non-Agenda Items
Joseph Agrillo raised issue with article in the Bourne Courier re: lights at Chester Park. In addition, he discussed his December 5, 2007 letter re: request for public hearing of all abutters, both full-time and summer residents. A public hearing will be held in the summer to address lights at Chester Park.
Correspondence
Selectman Conron reviewed the correspondence. All correspondence is on file in the Town Administrator’s Office.
Licenses, Permits and Appointments
Tim Mullen recommends fines listed in bylaws eliminated, per Atty. Troy. Selectman Zuern noted Town Bylaw would require Town Meeting vote.
Tim Mullen further suggested changes recommended on the following four (4) bylaws: (Page 8):
Selectman Ford MOVED and SECONDED by Selectman Zuern to approve Trading Post Lounge annual permission to close February 3, 2008 from hours of 5:00 pm through 10:00 pm for a private party. VOTE 4-0.
Selectman Ford MOVED and SECONDED by Selectman Conron to approve Beachmoor request for closing from January 2, 2008 through March 19, 2008 for cleaning and repairs. VOTE 4-0.
Town Administrator’s Report
TA Guerino noted last night’s ‘acquaintance’ meeting of Alternate Energy Committee. The next meeting will be held on January 7, 2008.
TA Guerino, Rickie Tellier and Mr. Ewell attended meeting re: Traffic and Roadway improvements for Buzzards Bay. The next step is to more forward with preliminary planning. Capital Outlay Committee will determine a monetary amount to move forward on the planning.
TA Guerino recognized responsible departments re: Ice and Snow Removal on last week’s storm.
TA Guerino noted Wind Tower article and stated he and Town Counsel are up to date on situation and moving to do what the law allows them to do.
Draft FY09 Budget is in and will be distributed to the FinCom and Selectman for review and comment.
Other Selectmen’s Business

Selectman Conron MOVED
and SECONDED by Selectman Ford to
expand number of members on the Alternate Energy Committee from nine members to
11 members. VOTE 4-0.
Selectman Conron MOVED and SECONDED by Selectman Zuern to appoint Paul O’Keefe as a member of the Alternate Energy Committee (one-year term). VOTE 4-0.
TA Guerino will submit new configuration, including signature page.
Selectman Zuern noted discussion at the Wind Turbine
Workshop and requests TA Guerino obtain energy consumption numbers and dollar
amounts of the last five years for each school to determine if energy costs are
up or down.
Selectmen’s Report
Selectman Ford attended Buzzards Bay Beautification.
Selectman Conron attended ISWM Future’s Group and suggested making policy statements for ISWM to get contracts. She also attended conference on Land-based wind. Selectman Conron also attended Alternate Energy Committee meeting.
Selectman Zuern also attended the Workshop on Wind Energy as well as the Atlantic City Workshop. Selectman Zuern also attended ISWM meeting, noting Brent Goins’ budget recommendations will be presented to the Board.
