TOT SPOTTER - NIGHT FIRE RESCUE PROGRAM

Now in effect Cape wide is the new Tot Spotter Program.  This program replaces
the oval "tot finder" window decals that are scattered throughout the Cape.  This program is
being sponsored by all the fire departments on the Cape and has been approved by all the
Fire Chiefs on the Cape and Islands.

Nationwide , the old program of window decals is being dropped because of
various reasons; the main one is that they are not being removed when the child is no longer
in that room.  Secondly, it has been found that because children sleep more soundly than
the parents, burglars are using the window stickers as a sign to break into rooms where
children are located.

The new location is as shown.  The sticker is to be placed on the outside of the
bedroom door - facing the hallway - at the bottom, hinge side of the door.  (see diagram below).

All residential searches in the fire service are conducted along the floor.  The
placement of this new decal will greatly assist the fire department in locating your child.  The
decal is extremely reflective and can be seen in dense smoke with the use of a flashlight.
