Fire Prevention and Code Enforcement

Bourne Fire/Rescue and Emergency Services is committed to public safety, fire prevention, and public education programs. This department conducts state-mandated inspections of schools, hotels/motels, and health care facilities per Mass. General Law Chapter 148. 

In addition, our staff conducts hundreds of commercial and residential inspections required by the Massachusetts Comprehensive Fire Safety Code (527 CMR 1.00). We also conduct smoke and carbon monoxide inspections for private one- and two-family residential home sales. We work closely with other town inspectional agencies, perform required school & health facility fire drills, public education. plans review and all fire department permitting.
