Residential Sharps Disposal Program

Managing your health care at home can be a complicated process, especially when disposing of health care supplies like syringes and lancets. These syringes and lancets are called household sharps.

Bourne Fire/Rescue and Emergency Services Headquarters station, located at 51 Meetinghouse Lane in cooperation with Barnstable County, is a designated sharps drop-off location. Sharps must be secured in an approved container. If sharps are not secured in an approved container, you will be given one to secure them in.

Please do not leave sharps containers outside the station. Sharps containers will not be accepted by our business office. You must speak to on-duty personnel for disposal. If on-duty personnel are not present in the station you will have to return another time. Thank you for your cooperation.
