Cape Light Compact

The Cape Light Compact is a cooperative effort of 21 towns on Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard and Dukes County. Its purpose is to ensure consumers have the opportunity to participate in the competitive market, to participate in policy determinations that shape the market, and that the market reflects a balanced combination of consumer and supplier interests.

The Compact provides:

  • An option to join together for purchase of power supply at reduced rates
  • An option for recovery of fund collected from Cape consumers by Commonwealth Electric each year for energy efficiency and conservation programs
  • An opportunity for professional representation at the state level and negotiations with Commonwealth Electric
