The Bourne Engagement Committee's mission is to sponsor and encourage community events, projects, activities, services, programs, and public improvements which are of mutual interest to the visitors and residents of the Town of Bourne, and, which strengthen the Town by fostering community involvement and spirit. The Committee was approved at the May 2019 Town Meeting and approved by the Attorney General as the Community Engagement Bylaw. (Bourne General Bylaws Section 1.6)
There are seven members represented on the Committee: (3) Residents at-large, and (1) member each from the Bourne Board of Selectmen, Finance Committee, Town Administration, and Bourne Local Cultural Council.
The Committee provides an application for funding and invites organizations or individuals to submit on events or activities that will benefit the Town of Bourne and its citizens. Funding is recommended by the Committee and authorized by Town Meeting, to expend for the purposes set forth in the bylaw.
We look forward to the launch of the Committee and it's function into the 2020 calendar year!
