BARLOWS LANDING NOTICE

Please Read -UPDATED 6.27.2023

Just a reminder that the bylaw 3.1.44, Use of Barlows Landing Road and Boat Launch,  is in effect this boating season.

Commercial Boat Launching Equipment as defined in the bylaw are restricted and a permit required from July 1, 2023 through September 4, 2023.  Commercial Boat launching Equipment shall include vehicle/trailer combinations that use hydraulic or electric stabilizers to support vessels on trailers and/or may be detachable by winch type equipment.  Also includes separate vehicles with cranes or hoists attached that are deployed and used for the purpose of assembling or disassembling vessels including their masts.

Important: Commercial Boat Haulers or boat owners using conventional non hydraulic trailers or trailers without electric stabilizers and who do not require a crane truck may use the boat launch at any time and are not affected by the restrictions set forth in the bylaw.

Permits will not be issued between the hours of 10:00am and 5:00pm of any day.

Exemptions may be made in the case of an emergency as determined by the Director of Natural Resources or his designee.

Permits will be issued by the Director of Natural Resources or his designee and must be requested 72 hours in advance.  See instructions below.

To avoid the obvious inconvenience that will affect boat haulers, boat owners, and all others who use the Barlows Landing recreational area, I strongly urge everyone to launch their boats prior to July 1st if at all practical.
