Summary of Amended Regulation

The Bourne Board of Health adopted a regulation Restricting the Sale of Marijuana in April of 2017 which was revised on March 28, 2018. This regulation established provisions for local oversight of marijuana-related businesses in the Town of Bourne ensuring that any marijuana establishment or registered marijuana dispensary operating in Bourne will be required to abide by more stringent regulations to protect, promote, and preserve the public health and safety of the Town and its residents. On August 22, 2018, the Bourne Board of Health held a public hearing and voted to amend their existing Regulations to keep abreast of new guidance & clarify the local requirements. Information was added to Section D clarifying how licenses are classified as either adult-use or medical, and restricting the total number of licenses classified as adult-use marijuana establishments to ten, where at least two will be reserved for marijuana retailers. Application and license fees were amended in Section D, ¶5 and the Board of Health has 60 days to act on applications.
