Recreation Committee
The 2022 Annual Town Meeting voted in favor to appropriate $330,000 from Community Preservation Fund reserves to fund the Recreation Committee’s Hardcourt and ADA improvements project. The project, being managed in two phases, has secured a contractor to begin Phase One - resurfacing and relining the hard courts identified as the most critical (Clarke, Keith, Pocasset, and Cataumet Schoolhouse), later this Spring.
The Town is requesting community input about preferred court layouts, color choices for courts and lines, play frequency, level of play, existing location usage, and other valuable questions, via an online survey open Tuesday, April 9 - 23, 2024,

Charge
The Recreation Committee reviews all requests from private organizations for town funding of athletic and recreation programs. The committee reports the findings to the Select Board and Finance Committee in the form of its annual budget submission. The Committee may develop town-sponsored athletic and recreation programs. The Committee shall develop, and regularly update, a written master plan for development and coordination of recreation programs and utilization of recreation facilities for all age groups in the town; and, shall be responsible for such other matters as may from time to time be referred to it.
