NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TOWN OF BOURNE

COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE

FISCAL YEAR 2016 APPLICATIONS

AND

FUTURE USES OF COMMUNITY PRESERVATION FUNDS

 

Pursuant to the provisions of Massachusetts General Law Chapter 44B – the Community Preservation Act – the Community Preservation Committee will be holding a PUBLIC HEARING on Monday, March 30, 2015 starting at 7pm in the Media Center of the Bourne Middle School, located at 77 Water house Road, Bourne, Massachusetts.

PURPOSE: to hear presentations and testimony from sundry persons who have filed applications with the committee requesting funding from the Community Preservation Fund for fiscal year 2016. These applications relate to Open Space-Passive Recreation;  Affordable Housing Assistance/Subsidy Program; Affordable Housing Programs Administrator; Installation of a Fire Sprinkler System at the Continental Apartments; Restoration and Preservation of Historic Resources: Improvements to the Buzzards Bay Railroad Station Visitor Center and to the Hoxie Center at Sagamore Beach for Art, Science, Education and Culture (Ella F. Hoxie School); Recreation Projects: refurbishing certain tennis/basketball courts; replacement of equipment in Chester Park; resurfacing of the outdoor track at Jackson Field; the restoration and upgrade of the Buzzards Bay Park; and budgeted Community Preservation Fund Reserves. The committee will also be taking testimony on the needs, possibilities and resources of the Town regarding future uses of the Community Preservation Fund and will consider the possibilities of any regional projects between Bourne and neighboring communities. During this hearing, the committee may vote its recommendations on the applications that are to be considered at the May 2, 2015 Annual and Special Town Meetings. Applications are on file in the Town Clerk’s office, Bourne Town Hall, 24 Perry Avenue, Buzzards Bay MA 02532 on Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm.
