Town Administrator's Advisory Committee on Pedestrian Bicycle Pathway

Charge

In acknowledging the importance of the creation and expansion of the pedestrian bicycle pathway between the Town of Falmouth and the Town of Bourne, the Town Administrator hereby establishes an Advisory Committee on Pedestrian and Bicycle Pathways in Bourne.

The Charge of the Committee is to assist in the creation of a pedestrian and bicycle pathway within the geographic boundaries of the Town of Bourne, connecting with the Shining Sea pathway in Falmouth and extending to the Bell Road area of Bourne Village. The Committee will work along and in conjunction with local, regional, state and federal agencies; establish and/or expand safe routes to school; determine Right of Way related issues - propose solutions to mitigate impediments for the establishment and maintenance of the pathway; seek both governmental and other sources of funding to achieve the construction of the pathway.

Membership

The membership of the Advisory Committee shall consist of seven members and shall be constituted as follows;

1 - Select Board member

1 - School Department designee

2 - At large members

3 - Members of existing groups currently engaged in the planning of the pathway.

The Town Administrator shall serve as an ex-officio member of the Committee. Employees of the Town of Bourne may be called from time to time to provide topical and technical expertise as the need may arise.
